Local Weather Conditions

The weather data on this page is supplied live from my house in Mt Freedom, NJ. On the roof of the house there is a Dallas Semiconductor "1-wire" (but it has 2 wires) weather system complete with wind speed, wind direction, temperature and rainfall sensors. Soon to be added are humidity, lightning and barometer sensors. All of these sensors have been made/assembled by me.

The sensors are then connected to an APRS Weather Station which does all the clever calculations and then both displays the information on its screen and passes the data to my Linux PC. The APRS device was also built by me. The PC then makes the graphics you see on this page and uploads them to my webserver every 5 minutes as well as sending the data to 2 other Internet websites.

The picture on the right shows the APRS Weather Station (bottom) along with my Weather Alert radio (top right) and my GPS receiver (top left).

The GPS is used as a time source to accurately time stamp the data my PC.
