One of the problems with Asterisk is that it is an American product. This means that it every time it speaks to you it speaks with an American accent and uses American words. It's most infuriating to be told to press the "pound" key when there is no "£" key on your telephone! So, I got together with a few English Asterisk users and we came up with a number of other "English" speaking accents for use primarily in the UK but also for other regions too.
To install these files, click on the relevant link below and save it to your machine. Extract the files with "tar -xvzf /path-to-file" and then copy the files to /var/lib/asterisk/sounds overwriting the ones that are already there. That's it! The usual caveats apply, of course. The below files may only be used in an Asterisk PBX system and are licenced under the same conditions as Asterisk itself.
And just to show that I'm not the Froggy bashing Englishman you all think I am;
